Validate a Domain Name in Python

When receiving data, such as information pulled from user input or email text, it is important to know whether the information is valid and can be stored and used safely. The following API will check the validity of a domain name received as input, instantly. This is performed through live validation by contacting DNS services for each domain.

Run this command to install the SDK:

pip install cloudmersive-validate-api-client

Then, you can call the function:

from __future__ import print_function
import time
import cloudmersive_validate_api_client
from import ApiException
from pprint import pprint
# Configure API key authorization: Apikey
configuration = cloudmersive_validate_api_client.Configuration()
configuration.api_key['Apikey'] = 'YOUR_API_KEY'
# create an instance of the API class
api_instance = cloudmersive_validate_api_client.DomainApi(cloudmersive_validate_api_client.ApiClient(configuration))
domain = 'domain_example' # str | Domain name to check, for example \"\". The input is a string so be sure to enclose it in double-quotes.
# Validate a domain name
api_response = api_instance.domain_check(domain)
except ApiException as e:
print("Exception when calling DomainApi->domain_check: %s\n" % e)

This will return a response stating whether the domain is valid. You can retrieve the API Key from the Cloudmersive website at no cost and with no commitment. This will provide you with 800 monthly calls across our library of APIs.

There’s an API for that. Cloudmersive is a leader in Highly Scalable Cloud APIs.
