How to enumerate PDF Form Field Values in Python

I’m about to show you an incredible shortcut method for determining your form field values for a PDF with Python. Here we go.

Diving straight in, we have our installation. We can handle this with pip install, like so:

pip install cloudmersive-convert-api-client

Now it’s time to create our API function call for edit_pdf_get_form_fields. Here’s what that should look like:

from __future__ import print_functionimport timeimport cloudmersive_convert_api_clientfrom import ApiExceptionfrom pprint import pprint# Configure API key authorization: Apikeyconfiguration = cloudmersive_convert_api_client.Configuration()configuration.api_key['Apikey'] = 'YOUR_API_KEY'# Uncomment below to setup prefix (e.g. Bearer) for API key, if needed# configuration.api_key_prefix['Apikey'] = 'Bearer'# create an instance of the API classapi_instance = cloudmersive_convert_api_client.EditPdfApi(cloudmersive_convert_api_client.ApiClient(configuration))input_file = '/path/to/file' # file | Input file to perform the operation on.try:# Gets PDF Form fields and valuesapi_response = api_instance.edit_pdf_get_form_fields(input_file)pprint(api_response)except ApiException as e:print("Exception when calling EditPdfApi->edit_pdf_get_form_fields: %s\n" % e)

And there you have our setup wrapped up nicely. We can now use edit_pdf_get_form_fields to return the form fields that we need. From there, we can use our return to structure our input for edit_pdf_set_form_fields, which does exactly what it sounds like it would. Done!
