How to convert HEIC to JPG in Python

HEIC format is great in a lot of ways, but compatibility certainly isn’t one of them. In many cases, the best method for dealing with this is to simply convert your images into JPGs instead, so that’s what we are going to demonstrate today. Using a Cloudmersive API, this is going to take about 5 minutes.

Let’s install the client for said API first.

pip install cloudmersive-convert-api-client

Afterwards, it’s time to call convert_image_image_format_convert. This is done using an API instance, as you can see in the example code we have for you here:

And now you can just set your starting and ending format, as well as your input file path. The starting format can even be left as UNKNOWN, which will enable the autodetect feature — great for processing large numbers of varying image files into a single format. Easy.
