How to convert a Word DOCX to a PNG Array in C# .NET Framework

Converting document files into sets of single-page images is quite a challenge. If you can overcome the initial parsing of the format, then you must render it, rasterize it, convert to PNG, and finally split it into pages. All of that is a huge headache in C#, so I’m going to show you a much simpler way of getting this done using an API.

First we install our client package using this command here:

Install-Package Cloudmersive.APIClient.NET.DocumentAndDataConvert -Version 3.2.8

Next we go ahead with calling our function for DOCX to PNG:

using System;using System.Diagnostics;using Cloudmersive.APIClient.NET.DocumentAndDataConvert.Api;using Cloudmersive.APIClient.NET.DocumentAndDataConvert.Client;using Cloudmersive.APIClient.NET.DocumentAndDataConvert.Model;namespace Example{public class ConvertDocumentDocxToPngExample{public void main(){// Configure API key authorization: ApikeyConfiguration.Default.AddApiKey("Apikey", "YOUR_API_KEY");// Uncomment below to setup prefix (e.g. Bearer) for API key, if needed// Configuration.Default.AddApiKeyPrefix("Apikey", "Bearer");var apiInstance = new ConvertDocumentApi();var inputFile = new System.IO.Stream(); // System.IO.Stream | Input file to perform the operation on.try{// Convert Word DOCX Document to PNG image arrayDocxToPngResult result = apiInstance.ConvertDocumentDocxToPng(inputFile);Debug.WriteLine(result);}catch (Exception e){Debug.Print("Exception when calling ConvertDocumentApi.ConvertDocumentDocxToPng: " + e.Message );}}}}

And that’s all there is to it, really. Simple
