How to convert a PowerPoint PPT 97–03 Presentation to PDF in C# .NET Framework

So you’ve got some legacy PPT presentations that are causing compatibility issues and just generally getting in the way — how can we turn these into useful PDFs instead? Easy, there’s an API for that.

To start off, we are going to need to install the Cloudmersive API client; run this command in your Package Manager console so that NuGet can get this going.

Install-Package Cloudmersive.APIClient.NET.DocumentAndDataConvert -Version 2.2.0

Once that is complete, invoke ConvertDocumentPptToPdf:

using System;using System.Diagnostics;using Cloudmersive.APIClient.NET.DocumentAndDataConvert.Api;using Cloudmersive.APIClient.NET.DocumentAndDataConvert.Client;using Cloudmersive.APIClient.NET.DocumentAndDataConvert.Model;namespace Example{public class ConvertDocumentPptToPdfExample{public void main(){// Configure API key authorization: ApikeyConfiguration.Default.AddApiKey("Apikey", "YOUR_API_KEY");// Uncomment below to setup prefix (e.g. Bearer) for API key, if needed// Configuration.Default.AddApiKeyPrefix("Apikey", "Bearer");var apiInstance = new ConvertDocumentApi();var inputFile = new System.IO.Stream(); // System.IO.Stream | Input file to perform the operation on.try{// Convert PowerPoint PPT (97-03) Presentation to PDFbyte[] result = apiInstance.ConvertDocumentPptToPdf(inputFile);Debug.WriteLine(result);}catch (Exception e){Debug.Print("Exception when calling ConvertDocumentApi.ConvertDocumentPptToPdf: " + e.Message );}}}}

Alright, we’re done. Our finished PDF will be returned to us, and we’re good to go.
