Convert Image to Words in Node.JS with OCR

The technology behind Optical Character Recognition is constantly evolving these days, allowing ever higher quality of results when converting photos into text. This technique generally requires a heap of coding and time, as the process is quite complex. Today, however, we shall approach it a bit differently. By harnessing the power of an API, we can begin using cutting edge OCR in our project in just a few minutes. Let’s get started.

First, install the Cloudmersive OCR API client.

npm install cloudmersive-ocr-api-client --save

Next we need to call our function and specify its parameters. Look at the following example code for the details behind this. You can pick between basic, normal, and advanced recognition modes, which apply various levels of pre-processing to the input photo, allowing you to customize to meet your required accuracy level. Specifying the language is also a good way to greatly improve the quality of your results.
